I – CHING – BOOK OF CHANGES (a means of divination)

(Contains 64 Hexagrams) 8 X 8 = 64 (masculine x feminine = life) Reflects the interrelated changing principles of life. You will need the I-Ching itself (a book) to read the meanings and see visual representations of the 64 Hexagrams. Each Hexagram is made up of two Triagrams representing two of the eight members of the Bagua.

Coin Method of divination

Three coins – Six Tosses = Total points after each toss

Heads = Yang – 3 points – Bright Light – Strong/Masculine

Tails = Yin – 2 points – Dark Shadow – Yielding/Feminine

Total Points = (9, 8, 7 or 6)

9 Points = Old Yang (Sun) unbroken line changes into a broken Yin line (—-    —-)

8 Points = Young Yin (Yielding) a broken line without change (—-    —-)

7 Points = Young Yang (Light) an unbroken line without change (———–)

6 Points = Old Yin (Moon) broken line changes into unbroken Yang line (———)
